About Me

Sweet T and the Section was formed in 2003 by Sweet T and Larry Primrose . Both having a great love of brass and reggae they put hearts and minds together and formed Sweet T and the Section. On their very first gig they played at the Skatalites afterparty and were joined on stage by Cedric m Brooks and Kevin Batchelor of the Skatalites. This fantastic experience encouraged the band to strive forward and we were eventually invited to support the Skatalites at the Carling Academy in Glasgow. Sweet T and the Section has been working extremely hard to create the unique and exciting sound of our music. Part of this perseverance has manifested in setting up Sweet T Records and we are now enjoying the release of our first tracks on world-wide digital download.
NEW TRACKS RELEASED ON SWEET T RECORDS
*GOOD VIBES* featuring MACKA B and *ROOTS ROCK REGGAE * featuring BRINSLEY FORDE. The dub version of Roots Rock Reggae also fearures members of the EASY STAR ALL STARS, Ras IRay (Bass), Junior Jazz (Guitars), as well as SKATALITES member Kevin Batchelor (Guest Trumpet).
Although the focus of our music is mostly instrumental, it has been an absolute pleasure working with these internationally renown artists. Recording these records has given us the opportunity to express our passion for musical experimentation, the evidence of which can also be heard in our brass section writing and arranging. We would like to officially thank the above mentioned for joining us in our collaboration. With this is mind, we always look forward to working with other bands and artists!
All of our music is recorded at Q10 Studios in Glasgow.

We are big fans of the great work of the Alpha Boys School. We noticed people are trying to raise funds for the school and decided to invite Skatalites, Kevin Batchelor (trumpet) and Ken Stewart (hammonds) to play on a new version of Dimitri Tomkine "Guns of Navarone".
Two great tracks were produced from the outcome of this fusion."Dubs of Navarone" vols 1 and 2 are available for download on itunes now and will be on all other digital download sites soon. 50% of the net profits will go to the school. iTunes Store Links
