About Me

Minerva Perez Garrido, better known as KU Minerva or just Minerva, is a Spanish singer and song writer. She was born in Barcelona on August 23rd.
She emerged around 1994/95 with a cover of the song "No more I love you's" and other singles such as "Llorando por ti (Crying for you)" and "No seas malo (Don't be mean)" gaining huge success. Then, in 1996, she released her debut album entitled "Promesas (Promises)" which contained hits like "No seas malo", "Quien? (Who?)", "Me he enamorado (I've fallen in love)", "Hoy sin ti (Today without you)", "Promesas" and, of course, "Llorando por ti" song that gained international popularity. The English version of "Llorando por ti" was named "Crying for you". She also released an English version for the song "Hoy sin ti" entitled "Feels so nice".

Her first album was so successful that it was later released in USA in 1997. But the album was entirely remixed by DJ Kako and DJ Box, changing all the songs to different versions and adding new ones. The song "Hoy sin ti" was removed and "Dejame soñar (Let me dream)" took its place and became the name of this material. An English version of "Dejame soñar" was released too with the name of "Let me dream with you". This new album was also distributed on Latin America and Spain.

Eventually, in 1998, she came back with another production entitled "Abreme las puertas (Open the doors for me)". It contained hits like "Abreme las puertas", "No quiero que siga (I don't want this to keep going)" and "Basta ya (Stop it now)". In 1999, she traveled to Mexico to participate on music festivals like Acapulco Fest and also to promote this new album.

Meanwhile, Minerva continued composing and producing a lot more hits, even for other artists, such as Sentidos Opuestos, Litzy, Lula Pop, Nina, Ego, etc.

In the year of 2000, she released her more recent album "Perdiendo el control (Losing control)" and it was just distributed in Mexico. Her first hit was "Juntos (Together)" which was the only dance song of this production along with "Lagrimas por ti (Tears for you)". This material showed a more calmed side of Minerva, with ballads and acoustic pop songs that projected her huge versatility. This last album was also released later on Spain under the name of "Fuera de control (Out of control)".

In 2006, she released a new version of her biggest hit, "Llorando por ti" which proved why she is considered The Queen of Dance in Spanish. That same year, she wrote a gorgeous ballad entitled "Bella Mujer (Beautiful woman)" dedicated to her ill mother. The Spaniard Association Against Cancer (AECC) loved the song and made it their anthem. Minerva gave the whole rights to them.

Now days, Minerva is working on a new album, although she doesn't know when is it going to be ready. It promises to be something really different from her previous productions and we can just be patient.
