my dream ever since i was about 5 was to draw for my job when i was a grown up. as i got older and started to get into middle school and even highschool i realized its something that takes ALOT of work. its not just something your born with, and i am a firm believer that any goal that you set, no matter how absurd or far-fetched it seems at the time, CAN be accomplished if your truly passionate about it. i am living proof. and when people tell me im a naturally gifted artist, i say you should look at my old sketchbooks and rethink that statement. this dream is now a reality for me, but to say that i didnt work for it is an insult. ive worked and worked and worked at it until ive gotten to the point where there is actually a few permanent indentations in my drawing fingers exactly where i hold a pen or pencil. ive worked through frustrating nights when i wanted to give up, and ive felt my bones and mind ache in pain from it, but the satisfaction that comes from standing back and just staring at a piece once its been finished and refined is worth it all. all the pain goes away and im left with a euphoric sense of accomplishment that fills me and drives me harder than ever. this is my life now, not just a dream and im loving every second of it.
