Sorrow's Native Sons

About Me

Sorrow's Native Sons is a Washington, DC-based band playing the music of The Smiths, one of the most influential alternative acts of the 1980s. Dreaded Sunny Day is Tim Felton (Vocals, Guitar), and Johnny May (bass). Our set list includes well-known songs such as the punchy ‘This Charming Man’, evocative ‘There is a Light that Never Goes Out’, and epic ‘How Soon is Now?’ as well as obscurities like the driving ‘Handsome Devil’, mawkish ‘Well I Wonder’, and funky ‘Barbarism Begins at Home’.Our on-stage presentation is upbeat and stays true to the croon and witty lyrics of Morrissey, melodic and jangly guitar of Johnny Marr, funk-inflected basslines of Andy Rourke, and steadfast drumming of Mike Joyce.
