Troy, his twin brother, and their mother left their roots in the south-side of Chicago at the tender age of seven, none of them comprehending the musical journey they would ultimately embark upon. In Chicago, Troy's father was a well known promoter back in the old school days with legendary artists coming in and out of their living room such as James Brown, Donny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield, & the Isley Brothers. From there, Troy attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts as a music major where he began to master his skills, mixing it up with every musical influence and genre from a wide variety of friends from the close-knit school. After graduating, Troy landed a song on a jazz guitar artist named Dirk K. He performed endlessly on stage with his band which eventually led him to side of Lenny Kravitz who took him around the world singing backups on Lenny's Word tour, "Circus". The influence of Lenny's rockin' style, and Troy's R&B roots, set off a spark for Troy's sound. Troy remembers sitting on the tour bus playing one of his R&B songs when Lenny told him, "Turn that off for a second". The next thing he heard was magic. Here's a song I wrote with my brothers Todd & Michael. I'm singing leads on this one... a song we call "Constant Compromise"I had the pleasure of hanging out and performing with the Amazing Lenny Kravitz. Check out his website at:LennyKravitz.com
