About Me

resonance array is the corporate umbrella/musical alter ego of Scott Lloyd Shelly (guitar & keyboard player, composer, songwriter, producer, all around knucklehead) which helps to alleviate his guilt about being a musical chameleon and not being true to his “roots”, which, oddly enough, actually are blues, rock & roll, and country. Growing up in North Hollywood, California with high-school bandmates Jeff Porcaro and David Paich, at age 17 Scott played hammond organ on tour with Albert Collins, played guitar and keys in a band with Warren Zevon (briefly), was one of Randy Rhodes early guitar teachers, and later toured with Tom Jans, Dan Fogelberg, Randy Meisner, and Boz Scaggs, as well as his own bands The Strand and Jagged Moon. Scott’s songs (mostly co-writes) have been recorded by a diverse group of artists such as June Pointer, Tom Jans, Nomo, Mike Finnegan, Col Finley, and Brock Colley, as well as a number of tunes written for films like Witness, April Fools, and The Transformers Movie (the first one.) A trip to Silicon Valley in ’93 resulted in Scott’s first computer game score and a move to San Francisco. Scott was soon one of the (early) game music guys, and is still looking for cool games to contribute to. Three months after moving to Australia, Scott got a gig scoring a TV show called The Crocodile Hunter, which kept him busy for the next few years. Lately, Scott’s been looking forward to playing some live gigs with his partner Brenda-Lee & The Avocado Theory.
