The Jazztronik Experiment

About Me

A night of futuristic grooves and abstract soundscapes led by laptop-dj Don Solo. Different combinations of electro-acoustic instrumentalists (bass, drums, keyboard, trumpet, etc.) improvise and ‘remix’ various electronic scenarios triggered live. Drawing from John Zorn’s experimental approaches, cue-cards will be used to bring instrumentalist in and out one at a time, creating spacious, layered, and directional compositions. From Abstract Techno to Post-Jazz, come out for fresh directions in music. Please RSVP to bring your instruments - this is not an open-mic/free-jam. Drums, mics, and PA provided. Please E-mail smithiva AT hotmail DOT com to sign up for instrumental slots. Donation requested, BYOB ($3/person).Attempting to fuse techno-electronic and jazz-improv musics while pushing both genres forward, laptop-dj Don Solo presents this new monthly series, The Jazztronik Experiment, at Muse Café.
