When Svetlana was young, she was admitted to Vagnova Ballet Academy. While she was a student there, she performed the Shades act of la bayedere, Masha in the Nutcracker, the Queen of the Dryadsin Don Quixote, and Dying Swanon the stage of the Mariinsky theater. In June of 1996, she graduated from Vagenova Academy performing Tchaikovsky's pas de duex. After that, she joined Mariinsky theater, what is now called Kirov ballet. She was seventeen then. Then a year later she was promoted to principal dancer. She had a great experiences in Kirov ballet. She loved it there. But she wanted more variety of repertoire so she also joined Bolshoi Ballet not long a ago. She recieved numerous prizes such as:
* The second prize of the international young dancer's competition in St. Petersburg.
*special prize "our hope" from the St. Petersburg brewery "Baltika"
* the golden mask award for performance in "Serenade"
* the golden mask award for performance in "Sleeping Beaty"
* the special St. Petersburg prize "People of Our City" for my achievements in ballet
* the Etoile prize for Italian "Danza&Danza" magazine
*Benois de la Danse for her performance in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
