Jimena is a celebrity Latin Singer. Her music reaches all ages and languages. She has done a variety of music videos and has opened for the Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony tour.Jimena, is embarking upon a new chapter in her musical career. Originally from Mexico City, Jimena has received a very broad artistic education. She started her vocal training at the age of 14, studying classical singing technique.
In June 2001, Jimena was signed to Crescent Moon Records, record label co-owned by Emilio Estefan and Sony Music. Her first album was Jimena, which included 10 songs, seven of which she wrote. The single Maldita ignorancia was released in three versions, norteña, ranchera and cumbia.
In 2003 she signed an additional contract with Univision Music. Her second album, En Soledad was also produced by Emilio Estefan. The first single of the album “En Soledad” reached to the number one position in the Latin billboard charts.
The album, “Volar Sin Alas”, was her second release under the Univision Records label. Produced once again by Emilio Estefan Jr.Jimena started her acting carrear featuring in two independing films and three music-video clips with Don Omar , Tucanes de Tijuana and Grupo Palomo.
Jimena has been a spokes lady for ING BANK; Jimena was recently chosen as the Coors-Lite Billboard girl for all the United States and Mexico Coors-Lite Advertising efforts and rollouts over the next year. Incidentally, she is replacing last years Billboard sensation Jessica Simpson. Jimena has been featured in numerous national and global publications. Jimena shooted in Puerto Rico the Spanish version of American Idol ( Objetivo fama). Jimena has been named as one of America’s 50 most beautiful In People Magazine several years and counting
Lately Jimena’s main focus has been to cross over more effectively into the American Market and not just be seen as a Latin Singer but as a singer to all audiences. . Jimena is now casting for English projects and continues filming and presenting as a Tv host. the new album will be release throughout the United states very soon. containing the styles of pop rock songs, ballads and hip hop, offering new rhythms for all her fans.
