It’s been a while since we’ve had a fake blonde of the month, so I decided I better get a really good one for the month of April! And I think I found an excellent one!
Introducing the fake blonde of the month…
Natasha Bedingfield!!!
Natasha is a wonderful singer/songwriter who was born in Sussex, England. Her parents are both charity workers, and she has 3 siblings, 2 of which are fellow pop singers! She took both guitar and piano lessons as a child and when she was a teenager she formed a pop group called The DNA Algorithm with her siblings Daniel and Nikola.
After the group disbanded, Natasha moved on to the University of Greenwich where she studied psychology for a year. After that year, she decided to leave the university and pursue her singing career. She recorded some demos in her friends’ garages and took them to record companies. For some time she composed and recorded songs for the Hillsong London Church. She finally signed a recording contract with Sony BMG in 2003. Her first album, Unwritten, was released in 2004 and was a huge success. It debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and reached the top thirty in the U.S. She was even nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2007 Grammy Awards! Her song, Unwritten, became the most played song on the U.S. radio in 2006!
Natasha’s second album, A Pocketful of Sunshine, was released in the U.S. on January 22, 2008.
Bedingfield is not only a talented singer and songwriter, but she is also a philanthropist who donates both her time and money to helping her mother’s charity organization, Global Angels. She visited India for 3 weeks in 2006 to support the organization. She is also involved with the Stop the Traffik coalition, which works to end human trafficking, and is a member of the (RED) campaign.
Bedingfield deserves to wear her roots with pride for all she has accomplished both as a singer/songwriter and as an advocate for those in need across the world. We are proud to make her the Fake Blonde of the month!
