If you are reading this, then you are curious. Maybe you found a card and you would like to know what the heck is going on. Here are a few answers.
I cannot tell people information about myself because that is not what I am here to do. I am here to find out what people's perspectives are on life. Every aspect of life. Love. Art. God. Faith. Relationships. Everything.
I have placed random cards with thought provoking questions on them in hopes that someone will answer them for me. The following are some FAQ's:
1. Why are you doing this?
I want to get to know people. I have dreams of writing a book that is a collection of hundreds, maybe thousands of people's veiws on life instead of my own. We are taught about great philosophers and what they had to say, but we neglect the fact that each of us has a life philosophy that has been pieced together through our experiences. Each person's veiw on life is a little different. I believe if we can start to expose ourselves one thought at a time to each other, the world could become a more understanding place.
2. What do I do if I have one of your cards?
Lucky you! This projet has not been set in motion very long, and if you have already found a card, PLEASE RESPOND! You have the email address, and if not, it is on here. Once you are done with the question, feel free to keep the card as a memory and reminder that you are your own philosopher, but I would personally love it if you found the next place to leave it. You can hide it in a book, tape it to a bathroom stall, leave it for a waitress, it is really up to you. All I ask is that you please do not throw it away because I have made each of them by hand and please do not leave it outside unless you have one that has been laminated.
3. What do I write in the email?
Anything you want that you feel is answering the question. You can be as long or as brief as you would like. You can answer the question with a sentence and leave, or you can tell me your entire life story. I promise that I read everything I receive. Please make sure you tell me what question it is that you are answering, otherwise I may get confused. PLEASE READ THE DISCLAIMER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SECTION.
4. Can I be your friend on MySpace?
Most definitely! Please add me, I would be honored to be your friend.
5. Have you ever answered your own questions?
Yes. But I struggled with many of them for a long time before I came up with my answers. If you do not know right away what you believe about something, or you cannot find the right way to tell me how you feel, then talk to me about that! I know how it feels to see questions like, "What is the meaning of life?" and think, "Oh My God. I have no idea." Many people find, like I did, that trying to answer these questions to other people really helped shape what they believe.
6. What if you did not answer my question in the FAQ's?
Email me. The site is still fairly new and I have not had much feedback yet as to what all I need to include on here.
DISCLAIMER: When you write to me, please feel free to include any information about yourself that you would like. However, seeing as how this may all end up in a book someday, PLEASE tell me if you do not want your name mentioned at the end of a quote by you. I will even quote people on here from time to time in blogs. I will only use first names, but if you do not want your name on there at all, please tell me. I do not want to offend anyone. Also, I do ask that even if you do not tell me your name, it would be great if you could tell me something like your age, gender, and where you are from. It is totally up to you though.
