About Me

Bård Henrik Bosrup started playing the cello at the age of 5. He grew up with art and music surrounding him. Studies followed with Franz Helmerson and Lynn Harrel, Rudolf Metzmacher and Josef Schwab. At the age of 26 he was first principal and solocellist of the Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Later he worked as a solocellist in Robert Schumann Philharmonie Chemnitz and Staatskapelle Halle and Kristiansand Symphoy Orchestra. As a soloist he played with major orchestras in Germany and Norway, and he is a dedicated chamber musician. He went on tours with different groups, among them the world famous Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, to countries like USA England and Italy. In the autumn 2007 he will start his own chamber music series in Oslo. In the early years he played in rock band, he started early to Improvise music, later, in germany, he took up Improvising again and started doing concerts and worked with poets, dancers, and painters, and in duo or trio with the saxophonist Warnfried Altmann, percussionist Hermann Nehring. Some of the Musicians he played with was Anner Bylsma, Victor Liebermann, Egil Kapstad, Wolfgang Hasleder, Yoichi Yamashita, Magnus Loddgaard and Randall Avers. The cello he is playing is from a very close friend of him, Roland Erichsson, a fantastic cello with huge sound and clearity, beautiful colors sounding. An electric cello will soon create new directions. Member of Corner string Quartett, who started playing concerts in a heavy metal pub På Hjørnet in Kristiansand, where they played music from Bach to Pantera. In june 2007 he will leave his job in Kristiansand and go on to Oslo for freelancing realizing own projects.
