About Me

As the lead singer and visionary of PinMonkey, Michael Reynolds guided the band he founded through three critically acclaimed albums, while along the way developing into a dynamic performer. Michael Berick of All Music Guide raves “Michael Reynolds boasts a clear tenor that is both sturdy and sweet. He moves from being soulful and sorrowful … to commanding and soaring,". Coming off a year long hiatus, Pinmonkey is back, lead once again by Reynolds' infallible vision, proving once again they are a talent to be contended with. And Nashville is once more taking note! ...I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Influences: I was strongly influenced by all the classic country artists, Porter Waggoner, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Tammy Wynette. AAAAHHHH, those were the good ole days! Also My Dad's family were all Bluegrass pickers so Bluegrass is something that I've been around all my life...I guess that's where my Appalachian Tenor twang comes from. I sound a lot like my cousin Edward Lee Reynolds. He's got the same kind of tenor voice as I do. I was also in love with Southern Gospel Music growing up...The Happy Goodman Family, The Hopper Brothers and Connie, The Lewis Family, The Virginians. Then of course my cousins Edward Lee and Lee Reynolds played in a country rock band (I think they were called "Dennis and the Swinging Dicks"...Seriously!). They played a lot of classic country rock. I used to love hanging out in the basement listening to them rehearse. Basically I was surrounded my whole life with all sorts of music. I loved it all and it all had a very strong influence on me. That part I get from my Dad. He loves everything about music.
Sounds Like: Pinmonkey, a little bit of The Allman Brothers, a little bit of The Band, a little bit of The Rolling Stones meets Merle Haggard
Record Label: Unsigned
