About Me

Hello - I'm that chick with big hair playing keyboards with these fabulous Sydney bands: Murrumbidgee Jones is the latest, along a country and urban vein, and among my friends here so check it out.
'25th Floor' is a Patti Smith 'tribute' band, with Tiffany Palmer (voc) and members of 'King Felix' Ned Alphabet (gt) and Andi Jackson (dr). Bass players have included Carl Ekman, Kyle, Bones - and now the esteemed Mr Andy Newman has stepped right out of the elevator to take us to the helipad on the roof via the external fire stairs. (Next time I hope I get to hear Ned as well...) I love this band, loud and fast. Everyone agrees we should play more often and so it was Hello Tathra, Goodbye Tathra back in March 08, with Dimi Dero Inc and the ocean all round. Meanwhile here's a clip from Zoe of 25th Flr about 3 years ago at the KB hotel. I'm in the dark next to Carl. Rock & Roll Nigger . Keep scrolling for some clips from Tathra shenanigans. Bikers Australia just loved us to pieces at their anniversary party, as did everyone at the next show with The Visitors and Mick Medew at the Empire hotel on 30 August 2008. Paris in May -June 2008 Patti Smith's exhibition
'Mother Truckers' swampabilly pop from Tom Waits to Wanda Jackson via Nancy Sinatra & Rose Maddox. Tiffany Terror Palmer (voc), Rev Travis T Trucker (gt), again what's-with-the-bass-player thing: we've had the awesomely upright pleasure of Tony, Toz, Jordan, Deadcat Dan, and now Jarryn, with the astonishing Joe Breen on all things drummable, plus Cousin Mike on baritone sax. We sure have fun watch'n y'all dance, so thanks to the fun crowds we'v ehad so far.
Among many a worthwhile flash in the pan of my music career was 'Klink' let's hope they emerge again with more pop and sneeky surprises: Julie London to Scott Walker via Ray Charles & Human Beinz, yeah you got it - shake and stir with Mark Sisto (voc), Madeleine Chase (voc, gt, wind chimes), Andy Newman (bs), Dave Alexander/Calvin Welsh (dr), Jack Shanley Stewart (brs). This is like one too many margueritas on a harbour cruise, it's all over the place and all over too soon.
Other bands going back in time: The Scrubhornets, Kings of the World, the Ghost of Charlie Cousins, Tu Lassoo, Frozen Assets, Claris Missile and the MIRVs.
OK friends and nosey strangers, the rest of this original "myspace set up what do i write?" blurb, except for the video links , is in my blog above, clips of local shows Blue Blazes playing the last gig at the KB hotel in 2005. DDInc at Tathra 2008: Funky Shit and Spark and Koursk and some good things from the ice age. Here's a trailer for my road movie, "Ready Smokers?", a futile romance with nature set in the famous cheese country outside Bega NSW, with soundtrack enhanced Tex Napalm, who does Oz swamp grunge arguably better than anyone east of Kalgoorlie. Thank you cows. Thank you drivers.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Ray Davies, and I sorta kinda did ! after his fabulous Sydney show Monday 17 March 2008 he wandered out to the bar and didn't run away when a few of us spotted him and came back in to say thanks etc, but I just grinned like a dill and couldn't think what to say !!!!! I'm still relishing the utter joy of such a classic artist & performer - I hope he had a ball at Byron Bay Blues festival and comes back next year (as they do, but he didn't). If you like words with your music get hold of Ray's recent album Working Man's Cafe, and Kinks Choral Collection is quite something. He has not lost his touch so of course it's all classic.
Freedom for Tibet & Bob Brown for president.
