Born in Angola, Jozz moved to the US as a teenager and spent two years inL.A. By 15, he was spitting bars and working on his techniques relentlessly.Performing by 17, his confidence has been on steady upwards gradient eversince.
Listing Kano (excellent lyricist), Dizzee Rascal (good guy), Jay-Z and Nas ashis inspirations, Jozz was already deeple in love with hip hop only to discovergarage when he arrived in the UK a few years ago.He has a special mentionfor Sway too.
"He sold mixtapes and won an award without being sighned which is a greatachievemtn. It is exaclty what i am trying to do. I want to sell CDs out of mycar boot and build up my fan base".
Much like Sway, Jozz has begun his rise to prominence by acquiring an MCPSlicence for mixtapes. He reiterates he would love to work with Sway, "not toget his heat but because i respect his sound and music. I do not sound Britishor American. I speak six languages which mean i can rap in six languages -making my sound unique.
With performances at Walthamstow College, private parties and raves, Jozzstates he is not looking for a deal. Rather than that, he wants to work withpromotion and distribution. "I would like to have my work in HMV one day, buti'm more interested in being known on the road before retail", says Jozz.Currently working on second mixtape and Portuguese album and looking fornew producers to diversify my sound.
