4th Quadrant4TH Quadrant Crew are four Dj's & one Mc, from a few mixed backgrounds all brought together by their love of music....
Namely Drum n Bass/Breaks etc, amongst many other genres. To go into detail about every members background would be
a long task so thats why most of us have or own MySpace, or you could just get us drunk and ask our life stories
if you really want to! So instead we'll just do a brief history of the crew and what we've been up to since we joined forces.....
Around July 2005 Dj Mode, Gotham, Aggrovator, Dan Mic & Mc Dtech were all close firends and fellow music lovers and musicians,
& we decided we wanted a place where we could play tunes we loved and hopefully get some locals dancing and having a laugh
at the same time. So we stumbled across the humble Kings Cross Hotel, in Kings Cross Sydney of course, and somehow a wednesday
night slot seemed to fall into our laps. We named the night 'Wax'd' and from then on every Wednesday seemed to blur into the next for the
following 4 or 5 months.. Over this time we hosted many local djs,mc's and crews who we thought deserved to get more exposure, and
Kings Cross hotel was perfect for that because all sorts of charachters would wander in, being such a raw and basic venue but in a spot where if you walk
past and hear music you like the sound of you feel a little curious as to whats going on inside. So we owe alot to that place, as its where we met most
drum n bass crew and all associated in Sydney, and its where we bonded as a crew and decided to carry on forever.............
In the new year after the hotel closed we ventured to other places whilst also starting to get booked individually at other events.......
We started a succesfull weekly 'Rotation', on Fridays at 'The Sly Fox', in Enmore, a venue already associated with drum n bass due to a former weekly
'Protein' (big ups to the collective boys). This was alot more organised than 'Wax'd' as we had full dogs bollox lineups every week and had to organise
every aspect of advertising and promoting, unlike Wax'd, when we normally stood outside and hollered at passers by!!
When this night came to an end we approached 'Hermanns', a kickarse student venue on Sydney Uni grounds, with a kickarse system, run
by one kickarse dude ( Nick you're a legend ). We hosted a few nights here, the highlight being host to Quiet Storm, UK Dubstep Label owner (Storming, Dub Police) ,
producer and Dj.
Other highlights of '05/'06/'07 included our very own Dan Mic regularly playing at 'Kink', a hugely successful elecro/breaks/house
weekly at 'the arthouse'on pitt street, Dteks band Kobra Kai taking off (dont want to go into it or we'd be here for hours but, supporting Roni SIze, Bukem, Marky etc), Aggro and Mode have
helped organise and played at the first of many warehouse parties in the city of recent times (dont want to take credit for DSS Soundsystem or HiJack sound,
was still a highlight for us, big ups boys!), + Aggro & good friend Reload rinsed the DNBBQ at the satart of summer, Gotham has toured U.S, NZ, & AUS, supporting J Majik, D-Kay, The Upbeats,
Ruffneck soldier, Deano (Mode) has been blessed with a baby boy (jah bless you Rhys) and Gotham has discovered tantric sex!
Well onwards and Upwards for '07 with gigs booked in for a new weekly 'Beat em Up', Dan Mic's production is hotting up so expect bombs to be dropped,
and the crew have a new slot at 'Çhinese' Laundry in the city, rinsing our the Cave area for the whole night on Friday 11th May + the 8th June + 29th June! So keep your ears to the ground
We also have a new addition to the massive Dj Reload (Archetype) so watch ya bassbins!!
we have lots of other things planned for the coming times..............
Big ups and much respect from crew to you...........
