Mark Donaghy

I'm Mark Donaghy, a guitarist who's passionate about music and life! I was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and moved to Canada to escape "The Troubles" when I was 10. I was drawn to the visceral power of guitar based rock bands in the 80s, and it wasn't long before I started playing "hot licks" through my first distortion pedal! In the 90s I played with lots of original Rock bands in Calgary, like Bent on Barbi, Spy Lemon and Delusions of Reality, and then moved to Vancouver to play with Porn Sauce. After returning to Calgary in 2002 I took Jazz studies at Mount Royal College, and joined a Reggae/Ska/Calypso band called Aktivate. I've just moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and right now I'm setting up a music studio so I can start teaching. I'm also looking for a band!
