New Beginnings

About Me

I created my own myspace layout using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!I was born in Washington, DC and raised in Glenarden, Maryland. I started singing at the age of three with my musically inclined family, alongside my parents, Gwendolyn and Michael, who performed in a local band.
Some of my performances have included President Clinton’s first Inaugural celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, a nine-day Jamaican tour, as well as an international tour which included Germany and England. I was also honored with the invitation to tour the continental U.S. performing in Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. More than anything else, I was thrilled to be able to fill the shoes of the legendary Eartha Kitt, who was originally cast as the Fairy Godmother in the Broadway production of Cinderella.
My stage credits include “Caroline or Change,” “Dream Girls,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Timbuktu,” “Lord I’m Coming Home,” “How I Got Over,” “I Do I Do,” “Black Broadway,” and “Christmas in Washington.” According to the Tennessean Globe, my voice has “flashes of power and range similar to singer and former Broadway actress Stephanie Mills.” I was (and still am) deeply flattered by the compliment...
I've shared the stage with world-renowned singers and artists such as: Karen Clark-Sheard, Luther Vandross, Kathleen Battle, Quincy Jones, just to name a few.
As you see on the bottom left, I am a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. I studied acting and Shakespeare at Oxford University in Oxford, England and graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater.
My life has brought joy and fulfillment in everything I've done. Because of my Christian beliefs, I've had to sacrifice certain roles that did not project a positive image. Even after being personally denied an opportunity to compete in Hollywood for the American Idol competition by the infamous Paula, Randy and Simon trio, I am continuing to follow my passion for success.
I give all praise and honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing a blessing to come through Fox 5 “Mic @ the Metro”, Marcus Johnson, Three Keys Music, Kollective Music, lyricist Sherman Farmer and all of my friends, family and coworkers. God has blessed me with the ability to sing and act and I hope that my light will soon shine upon the masses.REV. JAMAL BRYANT SPEAKS THE TRUTH ABOUT SARAH PALINHILARIOUS
