Hi my name is Luigi Zappa more than a dj I define me a careful listener. I have started to listen jazz being spellbound from the trumpet of chet baker and lee morgan from the sax of gerry mulligan and john coltrane from the African rhythm of the drums of art blakey and max roach from the voices of jon lucien, nina simone, leon thomas, mark murphy from the protest of gil scott heron to the poetry of antonio carlos jobim and the bossa nova's sound.At the end of 80' the house music and the english pop post new wave flooded the dancefloor I begin to listen a new sound it was the hammond's groove of jmmy smith, lonnie smith, jimmy mc griff, james taylor quartet everything this called acid jazz and it was of very cool then.So playin in the clubs became inevitable, fundamental it was the meeting with the maestro Nicola Conte, partner of many parties, and the Fez crew.Play was not the only thing to do,the need to recreate in the clubs the same atmosphere '60 of the swingin london, with scenographies, slides and video.We went get around for old vinyl shops to discover something original and rare vinyls.That's was: the mission.Now I have reduced notably my apparitions in the clubs, but I am always informed on what happens on the musical scene and in relations with friends and musicians those activity keep on playing................ but this is another story Photo Collage MySpace Comment Box MySpace Editor Comment Box MySpace Comments
