About Me
The band first started to play in 1988. when guitar player Jova Jovic, singer Aleksandar Siljanovski-Silja, saxophonist Vladan Miljkovic-Milje, drummer Zoran Milivojevic-Mikac, bass player Zoran Zivkovic and trumpet players Djordje Andjelic-Kica and Ivan Blagojevic-Uske gathered. For a while, saxophonist Dusan Petrovic played with them, but soon he joined another band called Playboy. When Uske left, trumpet player Bora Velickovic has joined the band. In 1990. the band wins famous Youth Festival Contest in Subotica, which was actually the last year that the contest was organized, and their song „Dozivotno osudjena ljubav“ found it`s place in a record from the Festival. During first few years of their career they seemed to have a great future, but discontinued discography was a great obstacle in their career.
First album „Dobar dan“ was produced by Vlada Zezelj and it was recorded in the beginning of 1992., but released after one year. Influenced by new (contemporary) american music (sound), with dominant horns, the album has very efficient songs as „Kreditna kartica“ (one part of the lyrics is in Slovenian language because Milje used to live in that far area of Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia), „Zeka“, „Ljubmora“, „Mara“. CD includes bonus tracks „Ja sam covek tvoj“ and „Njena je, njena je“. The same year, 1993. they presented Yugoslavia at rock festival „Days of Music“ in Strasbourg (France). Album „Prolecni dan“ has been also published with a delay. Their guests were Puroni (percussions) and Deze Molnar (saxophone). They produced this album by themselves therefore it had very (rich and) thick sound. Anyway, few songs were great concert hits, such as „Konji ritma“, „Vlade Divac“ and „Ubise Pabla“, the one with lyrics in improvised Spanish language.
Horn section of the band often performs with band Direktori in their songs that resemble ska music. DLM participated in compilation CD „Ovo je zemlja za nas“ (Boom 93, 1997) with their cover of „Let There Be Rock“ by AC/DC. Live track of their song „Dobar dan“, performed at their unplugged show in Dom Omladine at the end of 1996., is on CD „Nas slusaju svi, mi ne slusamo nikoga“ (Radio Index, 1997.) as well as a song „Vi sto mastate o sreci“ which they recorded with Rambo Amadeus. At concerts they often play cover song „Da mi je biti morski pas“ by famous band „Metak“ from Split wich they recorded for TV New Year’s program „Dva sata kvalitetnog programa“ directed by Srdjan Dragojevic. They composed music and songs for theatre play „Virus“, written and directed by Dusan Kovacevic and it was published on CD named „Virus“. CD contains songs „Ljubav“ and „Dezodorans“, instrumental music and cover of classic „Bolero“ by Moris Ravel. Actor Ivan Jevtovic, leading role from the play, was a guest singer in the song „Ljubav“. In 1998. they arranged and composed music for the play „Kraljevic Marko“ by Sinisa Kovacevic. They used to perform live music during the play and also had small roles in it. Along with many new Slovenian bends, Rambo Amadeus and DLM recorded cover songs of slovenian punk band Niet for tribute CD „Drz`te jih!To nisu Niet!!!“ (Vinilmanija, 1998). DLM made reggae version of the song „Zastave“ which Silja has sang in fluent Slovenian. After few years of break, the band returns in scene in 2003. with new guitar player Goran Djordjevic. In October 2005. PGP RTS has released their new album “Gde cveta Samsung zut†and the bend is currently on tour in Serbia and rest of the region, promoting the album. In February 2006. Silja leaves the bend, and new singer is Ivan Jevtovic, who participated earlier in song “Ljubavâ€.Discography:
