With a catalog of music ranging from loss, love, struggles, breaking free of other people?s dreams as a stand out track, and songs that will definitely make you shake your head there is no limit?s to his creativity.Jusrah was born in Philadelphia, Pa. From there on he migrated to different states as a youth. He eventually settled in the Commonwealth of Virginia. At the age of thirteen is when he discovered his ability thanks to a friend and fellow classmate who often wrote raps in English class and would recite them in the cafeteria amongst other kids that rapped. Usually a crowd drew as well as a reputation with the ladies in which JusRah seemed to gravitate towards. Seeing the attention that came along with it JusRah started to write as well, and fell in love with expressing his self through this style of music called hip hop. Therapeautic in a sense he felt that he found other ways to channel his energy whenever he was going through something, and became a standout in the cafeteria because of his subject matter. As time passed he would hone his craft developing a style of his own while still trying to maintain his grades and a spot on the basketball team because his interest was mainly geared towards writing music.This whole discovery took place while living with his step father in South Brunswick, N.J. Due to his mother?s divorce and his expulsion from school in Virginia he had no choice but to live with him. Not even two and a half years later his life would take a turn in a different direction. His step father would be placed in the state?s custody for in which led to his return to Virginia. Forced to meet with a school board for his reinstatement he was unable to attend public school for one year and subjected to attend an alternative educational program. Through this program he noticed that teacher?s were just there to collect a check because education was less emphasized and there was a different mentality of youth who were considered troubled. Thought to have a distant relationship with his family he gravitated more towards the street life and everything that it was accompanied by in which in due time led to trouble beyond his wildest imagination and his separation from the streets.If asked he will tell you that if you look at episodes in your life as a curse. It is totally up to you to turn that into a blessing if you can. And for him that is just what he was able to do. He set in his mind that he would use his time to focus more on his writing, and also read a great deal on philosophy, history, poetry, Donald Goines, Omar Tyree, etc. Given the opportunity he would also perform in front of crowds and received positive feedback, because he was able to touch people?s lives that had similar stories and they could identify with the pictures that he was able to paint with his wordplay abilities. Till this day he only considers the past as a chapter of his life that he won?t forget nor will he ever glorify, because that doesn?t validate who he is as a person. He just says that people are people, and everyone reacts differently to what their situation is.
