He not only produced most of the band's early recordings but also played guitar on the song "My Cat" and helped name the band.In early 1993, after being instructed by his new label Nothing/Interscope to not play any local shows, Manson formed Mrs. Scabtree, a side project with newly-hired Jeordie White. Manson played drums, while White (dressed as a black woman) shared vocal duties with then-girlfriend Jessicka from Jack Off Jill who wore a blonde wig.
