It's not about me....

About Me

Half Knee Grow Half Filipino. Military Brat, born in Long Beach, moved to the Philippines when I was 2. Lived there until I was 7. Moved to Bellevue, Nebraska. Went to Bellevue West High School and was your typical jock. I was into sports and spent my spare time hustling kids out of their lunch money playing cards and shooting pool(TERRIBLE). barely graduated in 1997. Took a basketball scholarship to Iowa Western CC then to Bellevue University. Graduated from Bellevue University in 2001 with a Sports Management and Communications Degree. Had an opportunity to pursue a basketball career in the Philippines. I absolutely love the Philippines, the people, culture, city. Living in another culture, is something I recommend to everyone who has a chance to do it. The experience is priceless if you have the right attitude about it. Thought having fame and money would make me happy. Really thought I was made to be a star playing basketball in the Philippines, had the skills, but Hoop isn't all about talent. It's funny because I was living a dream, getting paid for doing something I love to do, but yet experienced some of the most saddest and depressing moments of my life. Little did I know that God had a much bigger plan. He was teaching me about humility and was developing my character. He brought me through that experience to help me become the man I am today. Called myself a Christian since 2000, but was scared to grow, scared to read the bible. Thought Christianity was just believing in God, going to church, pray on occasion, maybe attend a bible study or two, and because I did that, I was straight. Started learning more about what it was to have a relationship with Jesus and I knew there was more to being a "Christian" than just that. There was a lot more depth, I mean a lot... Captured by His love for me and it slowly changed my heart. Gave my heart to HIM in 2004. Things started to become clearer of what my purpose in life was and my persepectives started to change. I can honestly look back at my life and just be amazed. I really couldn't be happier. It's amazing seeing what God can do, when you do give yourself completely. I am a living witness:)
