Danny Hummel

I consider myself to be a Drummer/Singer/Songwriter, who dabbles with guitar and piano. I was attracted to music as a young child and have been absolutely in love with it ever since. Every part of my existence has been shaped by music and it just gets deeper with time. The interaction of a band, the social circus that is a gig, the aquisition of as much gear as sanity permits, the travel, the cheap food... My satisfaction comes from laying down bullet-proof grooves, from slow blues, uptempo jazz, hard rock. I favor material with a commercial edge, the songs that grab your ears at first listen, unfortunately, these days they don't exist. That is where I can see a ray of light, my special purpose! Give the world good music again, all I need are several dozen hit tracks and I am in business...But anyhoo, I love playing live, nothing gets me over like a great gig, nirvana can be reached at certain points, when I am playing drums and singing at the top of my range, that is perfection. Do I regret not playing the harmonica instead of the drums like my Mom said? Never! I love wrenching my back, and lugging my shit every week, it never gets old and I know it never will. I love hanging par cans, I love trying to hang the banner on a brick wall, I enjoy it when some old timer dozes off at the bar during the set.
