I'm the co-author of Comfortably Numb-A History of "The Wall": Pink Floyd 1978-1981. For details, please visit http://www.PFApublishing.com . The Comfortably Numb book is the result of a ten year research project on The Wall by Vernon Fitch and Richard Mahon. It explores Pink Floyd's landmark album, The Wall, and the ensuing stage shows, in exquisite detail, and includes contributions from many of the people involved in The Wall, such as Marc Brickman, Brian Christian, Bob Ezrin, Stan Farber, Mark Fisher, David Gilmour, James Guthrie, Rick Hart, Andy Jackson, Jon Joyce, Michael McCarty, Nick Mason, Patrice Quef, Gerald Scarfe, Rick Stratton, Phil Taylor, Toni Tennille, Trevor Veitch, Wall writer and creator Roger Waters, and numerous others. It also features over 400 illustrations, with many rare and previously unpublished photographs from the people that worked on The Wall. My co-author, Vernon Fitch is the author of Pink Floyd-The Press Reports and three editions of The Pink Floyd Encylopedia. I contributed to three sections of the Encyclopedia: entries for The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon and Music Equipment.
A group of excerpts from the Comfortably Numb book were published as an article in the December 2006 edition of Guitar World magazine. The article was titled "Off The Wall" by Vernon Fitch and Richard Mahon. The article appears on page 86 of the magazine.
I was a staff writer for the Pink Floyd webzine Spare Bricks writing a regular column titled Gilmour, Guitars & Gear. In all, 31 articles were written between 1999 and 2007.
I started playing guitar when I was 8 years old, I took my first lessons at 12 and by 14 it became an obsession. I usually have a guitar near me at all times, usually a Fender Stratocaster. I've played many other guitars but I just love the tone of the Strats. It's not the easiest guitar to play, but the tone is worth it.
