Twilight of the Idle

About Me

Rickie Gal has been performing as Twilight of the Idle for three years. Hir music is an innovative blend of piano-artistry, spoken word and vocals coupled with lyrics about love, queerness, gender, and politics are exciting to the ears and an espresso shot to the mind. Gal's style is funky, jazzy, ambient and cabaret-esque all at once. Influenced by everything from straight ahead jazz to cabaret to free improvisation, Gal whips it all up in hir eclectic funky style and uses it in an alternative rock context, transmitting artistic energy reminiscient of Dresden Dolls, Tom Waits and Fiona Apple. Twilight of the Idle is based in Brooklyn, NY. For booking inquiries email [email protected]
