About Me

Thanks for dropping by my page...
Chris Laitt is a 23 year-old producer based in the Midlands, UK.
I’ve been surrounded by music for most of my life, but at first it was only a background interest during my childhood and it was one of my longest standing friends, who I’ve known since primary school that introduced me to playing keyboards at the age of 8. It was from this point on that music really became a serious interest and since then, I’ve gone through learning how to DJ, produce music, how to play other instruments and discovering so many different styles of music along the way. My biggest step was spending 3 years at college studying music in all its technical, creative and theoretical contexts and I’m now seriously considering continuing on to university to expand on my knowledge even further.
As for producing, I first got into it using the Dance Ejay program around 1999. But in wanting to work with more creative freedom than just dragging and dropping samples, I went on to using Cubase VST5 then Cubase SX2 and just this year I have upgraded to using Cubase4.
During my time at college I had also formed a band with some of my closest friends there and we’re still going strong well over a year later with 2009 looking to be a good year for us. (If you want to find out more about my band, ‘Halls of Ivy’ click here .)
That, as they say, is that...
By the way, my surname is pronounced "Late". (You won't believe how many other variations I've heard over the years... and don't bother with any jokes about it either, I've heard them all before!)
