Looshy Garments

The Alfemale collection was created with the intention of introducing and experimenting with new fashions. The objective behind experimental fashions- Looshy: The Alfemale Collection- is seen as a stepping stone/ a testing ground in the designer's young career. Looshy is the lovechild of aspiring designer/ Industrial Design student (RMIT)Samantha Duzenman and her sewing machine doing cheeky things in her grandmother's spare bedroom, dining room hall, kitchen table and even the bathroom floor (no, just kidding about the latter, the rest are the places she and her sewing machine had dominated the past month). Looshy was conceived with the aim of being an extra project on the side from studying. Looshy is the first time she has launched her designs/garments into the real world of retail.
The Alfemale Collection is defined by its experimental fabrics, colour 'matching'(or mismatching- whichever way you look at it...is the glass half full or half empty?), even by choice of retailer(Design-A-Space was chosen as it appeals to Samantha as a great environment for young/new designers to launch their career, research the demographics of her interested clients).
Alfemale is a made up name, the hybrid name of Alfa (related words: brightest star, highest, dominating, first, most important...commonly related to the term 'alpha male' of a particular animal group) and the adjective- female. This 'cross-pollinated' name was the epitome of what the garments and the label stand for. Looshy Garments are for the independent, sophisticated, confident, fun, eccentric, unique, outgoing and playful lassies.
So, please even if you dont feel like you have the qualities of a Looshy Lassie, remember this...Every lassie has the ability to have/become/ and be anything she wants so long as she ignores her worries goes in for the kill, devours her prey and conquers. In human terms; try on the garment, experiment, aim for perfection and embrace imperfections!
