Taekwon-Do was created by Choi Hong Hi, a Major General in the Korean Army. It was officially founded on the 11th of April 1955.The governing body is the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF; www.tkd-itf.org), which was founded in March 1966. The first president was the founder, Grandmaster General Choi Hong Hi. The current president is Master Tran Trieu Quan.
