I'm considered old-fashioned by some, yet progressive, open-minded and open-hearted. I am outgoing, caring, generous, loving, devoted, loyal, a hopeless romantic sometimes, yet humorous and quick witted with a touch of spontaneity.
I'm a country boy at heart and I value honest relationships. I require honesty from the people in my life, and I don't have any use for phony, pretentious people with ulterior motives. I'm a little on the quiet side, but can be rather outspoken when prompted. I've never been accused of being boring!
My friends also tell me that I'm funny and I tend to see the ironies in life. I can laugh at myself, am secure in who I am, yet humble and grounded. I enjoy travel, and I'm a lighthouse fanatic, traveling around the U.S. and Canada to visit and study the history of these magnificent examples of our maritime past. I also enjoy learning to master different stringed musical instruments, dining out, movies, theater, concerts, comedy clubs, sailing, camping, hiking, hunting, kayaking, and fishing. I am a voracious reader, and I love all the old classics. I also enjoy continuing education, as I believe that the apple that falls from the tree only rots away. I enjoy music-Baroque, Classical, New Age, traditional Bluegrass, and traditional Celtic. Still somewhat of old hippie-type, I enjoy growing my own vegetables and gardening. Oh, and I love to cook! I also enjoy restoring antique farm tractors and old British sports cars and motorcycles. I don't wear jackets with leather patches on the elbows. Give me blue jeans and boots anytime! I believe that a tattered old baseball cap is a fashion accessory, although a night out at the theater or symphony is not out of the question. Life is short, so I try to enjoy every minute of it. I believe that it is better to live richly, than to die rich. I'm also the proud father of Andrew, an intelligent,serious 17 year old young man who knows what he wants from life and who he wants to be. I couldn't be more proud!!!
