Swiss-Canadian producer and DJ Matthias Beeguer (aka Sunbyte) is among the pioneers who brought the beat of L.A.’s new underground sound of Psychedelic Trance to the main stages. Drawing his roots from the dance-floor, Matthias translates his experiences through sound, always pushing his music to another dimension. Since his debut in 2002 he has injected crowds with unique soundscapes that cross over high-energy beats, progressive depth, and uplifting harmonies to create a truly unique palette that paints the future of electronic dance music. After an appearance at after-hours club Insomnia, Matthias became an instant resident with bookings to follow throughout venues in Los Angeles. Performing at the Mayan Theater, Arena, Club Red, Avalon, Circus, and Spundae - alongside internationally celebrated artists such as Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, Christopher Lawrence, Judge Jules, and Eddie Halliwell - spreading psytrance to the L.A. mainstream as an ambassador of the underground. Soon enough the music carried Matthias deeper into the light and he naturally transitioned to creating music of his own under the alias Sunbyte. He is currently working on his first album. Matthias continues to make regular appearances at numerous west coast underground and overground venues, Greensector gatherings, Earthdance Festivals and at the legendary Burning Man Arts and Music Festival. He has been a creative influence among fellow DJs and producers contributing to the global sensation of psytrance...bringing hope to promoters for a better tomorrow in a sophisticated high-energy dance experience.
