"It is simply that we can all be good boys and wear our letter sweaters around and get our little degrees and find some nice girl to settle, you know, down with... take up what a friend of ours calls the hearty challenges of lawn care... Or we can blaze! Become legends in our own time, strike fear in the heart of mediocre talent everywhere! We can scald dogs, put records out of reach! Make the stands gasp as we blow into an unearthly kick from three hundred yards out! We can become God's own messengers delivering the dreaded scrolls! We can race dark Satan himself till he wheezes fiery cinders down the back straightaway....They'll speak our names in hushed tones, 'those guys are animals' they'll say! We can lay it on the line, bust a gut, show them a clean pair of heels. We can sprint the turn on a spring breeze and feel the winter leave our feet! We can, by God, let our demons loose and just wail on!"
You know its dynamite, the way he takes his life. The man with the plastic suns.We all have different paths in life!
Some take the highway and some take the old back country road.
Some of us jump right on the highway and get off at the first exit we see.
They never get back on the highway to see what the other exits hold.
Others however get back on the highway and try out a few more exits to see what each one holds opening our minds and views to new and different things allowing us to grow and become more of our own individual self.
Then there are those select few who don’t rush right onto the highway and take the express way through life so that they can get to the last exit as fast as they can.
These are the select few who take the old country road and take things one stop sign at a time.
They enjoy the scenery they don’t just speed right by it to get to their destination.
They experience everything that the old road has to offer.
They walk on it, live on it, and leave their ideas, expressions, and life values on it.
They don’t take the same express lane every single day, they find different back roads and learn new and original ways to get to their destination.
They don’t follow a guided map they make their own map and become their own guides in life.
We all have different paths in life and becoming our own creators of that path makes each of us who we are.
