J. Hill & Hartling

About Me

CONTACT US AT: [email protected] (to be added to our gig mailing list, etc.). J.Hill (vocals/harp/foot percussion) was born in Chicago and raised in Cincinnati, and James Hartling (guitars) is from San Antonio by way of California & Penciltucky. Both have lived in Jersey City for far too long. Recorded during the terrible winter of ’06-’07, their first record “Jersey City Stomps” is a ragtag collection of acoustic and electric one or two-chord blues and gospel vamps. This music reflects the harsh realities of life on the streets of New Jersey’s riverfront metropolis, which stands in the ghostly shadow of the World Trade Center. This music comes from the wellspring of all American music, and as such is timeless. Long after the United States has disappeared from the global scene, the blues will remain...
