Sound In Light is about beautiful Music. Formed in Hamilton, Ontario Sound In Light shares humble musical beginnings in a citywhich has already produced several internationally recognized artists such as Stones Throw Records recording artist Koushik,Caribou and the Junior Boys. Sound In Light is Janine Wright (vocals), Devon Craig (instruments), and Padraic McGuire(production). However, the groups’ musical approach has more in common with Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen and Walter Becker than thatof a more traditional band. Their unique sound, an experimental mix of 70’s informed pop, jazz, soul and funk is their raisond’être. How they create that sound is by not limiting themselves during the creative process, taking on whatever role the musiccalls for at the time with a complete willingness to call upon outside help whenever necessary in order to achieve their sharedmusical vision. For Janine, Devon and Padraic the music comes first and the roles they play during its conception are rarelylimited to the titles that best describe the most obvious talents they bring to the group.It is always a special occasion when musical visionaries commit to working collectively for a larger sonic vision and Sound InLight is no exception.You can find Sound In Light's modern re-working of Amnesty's "Free Your Mind" on Now Again Re:Sounds Vol.1 released on Now AgainRecords.
