SHOWMAN & THE THUNDEROUS STACCATO'S
was Yvan Serrano-Fontova (aka Healer Selecta / DJ El Senior Showman) 's Wild Intrumental Surf Jam band Project in 1994-1996. Yvan was also the Guitarist of French Rockabilly Garage Punk called The Blue Devils ( 1989-1996) Yvan was the lead guitarist of this Guitar surf Ochestra: 3 guitars, 1 bass, 2 drums. Yvan was playing Telecaster, Stratocaster, Gretsch Roundup, Dual Showman Amp conencted with a Twin Reverb Amp, A Music Man 212 HD, and a Vox Ac 30 all connected to a FenderReverb Tank, well indeed, with a set up like this you can feel the twangy right up your face ! LOUD was not really the word ! Super Heavy Sonic It was!
In 1994 Yvan was on tour with Norton Records legends Billy & Miriam Lina (The A-BONES). Billy and Miriam called Micheal Lucas from the Phantom Surfers and Repent records, who straight away signed the band on his legendary REPENT RECORDS based in San Francisco, the first EP " My Fist in your Motherxxx Face" was from a jam session taped/recorded with a "gettho blaster" making a very wild and Lo-Fi Sound. Then in the UK, legendary JOHN PEEL RADIO 1 programmed the tunes of Showman on air at his show, dubbed the band as " The Wildest Instro Rockabilly Surf Band on Earth". Then "Sir Baldie Diddley, signed the band for 3 compilation, 1x album, 1x EP. John Peel and Josh Collins then asked "The Wild Ass Rock Rollers from the French Wilderness" (M.Lucas repent records USA) to come in London to do the Dick Dale Show opening at the London Forum in 1995. Then did and also during the same day recorded in less then 5 hours a Wild Instrumental Hot Rod Surf Jam. They were truly the wildest surf band on earth, they done only 4 gigs Limoges (with Sir Baldie Diddley) -Paris ( with Trashwomen)- London ( with dick Dale) and Limoges (final and good bue gig), This band was only for fun recalled Yvan , but we ended as a funny legendary Lo Fi Wild Instro Band!

SHOWMAN & The Thunderous Staccatos: Sex-Mad Draggin'frenchies ( Josh Collins/ Exotica Entertainment/ Frat Shack Club London/ Wild Week End UK)
Showman and the Thunderous Staccatos Eat My Dust Asshole review by Dirt Reverb Central California
Label: Alopecia WIGCD010 CD/LP
I first heard this on vinyl. The recording is crude enough, but the vinyl had much of what was there, some of the performances energy and the details of the playing come out. I have come to realize that this is probably one mother of a band. It is another Sir Bald Diddley thing, is it not. I'd really like to get them into a decent recording environment (This Album was produce and recorded in less then 5 hours at TOE RAG STUDIO produced by Liam Watson ). I suspect they would totally rule the earth, nit unlike the Surf Coasters. However, the extremely lo-fi nature of the recordings keeps that from happening with this record.
Picks: Clutch Off, Hijo De Puta, Fire Walk With Me, Catwoman, Thunderous Staccatos, Wray's Boleros
"Hot Rod Race (Speed Crazy)"Heavy vibrato ominous guitar sounds. GarageSurf Instrumental Mono"Hijo De Puta"Big double picked tune with hot glissandos. A rage with Middle Eastern flair. Really heavy guitar sounds. GarageSurf Instrumental Mono
"Fire Walk With Me"Indian yelps, tom-toms, spring reverb splashes, eventual big guitar gnarls, and a cool Indian stereotype melody line. GarageSurf Instrumental Mono
"Catwoman"Major cool super high (behind the bridge?) runs lead into damped noodling lines, and then alternate with super heavy low-E double picked gutty lines. The whole thing is the alternation between these elements. Without that, it has no direction. The opening is quite cool, and it's worth a spin for sure. GarageSurf Instrumental Mono
"Thunderous Staccatos"Vibrato massivo plus Al Casey reverb drenched notes, a primal melody buried in back... cool but ugly. GarageSurf Instrumental Mono
"Wray's Boleros"Like the name says, "Rumble" and "Bolero." Huge, raw, powerful. GarageSurf Instrumental Mono
