About Me

Hi there! Nice to meet you, we were Mechano!
We were a band here in Wellington that was only around during 2007, check out our blog to see what we got up to.
Your hearing our debut EP right now. It is available for $5, please message us if you want a copy!
Read the lovely things people have said about us:
"Holy Shit. You guys rule!" -Mole Music

"So I saw these guys live on Friday and I text messaged, mid-set, an absent friend that they were "fucken amazing, like fat gut strut chicks meet the klaxons with animal from the Muppets on drums". Then I bought their EP. Recorded they seem a bit tighter and cleaner, which could be either a good or bad thing, I suppose. Thankfully, in Mechano's case it's a REALLY good thing. Mark's incredibly witty and disaffected lyrics bounce off and around infectious post-punk dance beats. I think I have found my new favorite local band, but fuck, they're from Wellington. Keyboard? Yes! Neon Hoodies and Fake Smiles? Thankfully, Fuck No!" - cheeseontoast.co.nz

I hope you like this story:

The giant robot, Mechano, was built by the elderly Mr. Hopkins, an eccentric inventor, as an exhibit for an industrial fair.

At the fair, Mechano was accidentally struck by a ray of pure energy from an atomic transmitter, which caused Mechano to gain a will of its own and run amok.

No longer responding to the remote control, the robot caused destruction, then wandered to the outskirts of town where a spaceship carrying a horde of invading aliens had landed.

Mechano fought off the aliens. As the spaceship departed, armed police arrived and shot Mechano, destroying the robot and never knowing that Mechano had just saved the Earth from invasion.
