The Movers & The Shakers

The Movers & The Shakers are a band that can only be described as greatly ironic, or maybe ironically great. Originally proposed as a touring band, the lineup quickly disintegrated. With no more than three band members ever in the same place at the same time, they decided to put all their efforts into recording what would be their first and last album.

Recorded over the summer of 2008, their self-titled debut was entirely self-produced, for better or worse. Drawing from a wide variety of influences, M&S put together a more musically diverse album than they had planned. This is music that no one in this day and age will recognize as "good," but in 20 years the hipsters of the future will hail as even greater than that of The Beatles.
