The organization has three basic principles: brotherhood, scholarship, and service. The principles are clearly expressed in the Fraternity's motto:Culture for Service and Service for Humanity...Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity's interest in fostering the development of today's youth into effective leaders of tomorrow can be realized in the establishment of a strong productive Sigma Beta Club.The Sigma Beta Club is an essential part of the total organizational structure of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. It offers Sigma Men a unique opportunity to develop wholesome value, leadership skills, social and cultural awareness with youth at a most critical state in their personal development.The purpose for an organization such as the Sigma Beta Club are countless in numbers. The Club, being an organization for young male students gives them an opportunity to meet with each other on a regular basis outside the school atmosphere to discuss their interest and problems. The Sigma Beta Club also gives its members a chance to meet with college and professional men; therefore exposing the membership to to various viewpoints of educational achievements.The primary programs for the Club are educational; cultural; social; and athletic. They are designed to give members a chance to be innovative, thereby instilling self confidence and a feeling of accomplishment. Service projects such as community clean-ups, assistance to the elderly, and the March of Dimes, will assist Club members in getting involved in their communities.Over the past few years the Sigma Beta Club program has evolved into Phi Beta Sigma's primary program for the developing leadership skills for young males throughout the United States and abroad...
