I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Well, it is going to require the American people, enlisting them in putting pressure on Congress to make it happen. This is part of the point that I've been trying to make, Steve. There's no shortage of plans out there. There's no shortage of policy papers. This is not a technical problem. It's a problem of politics. It's a problem of getting a big enough coalition of people who are organized, inspired, mobilized and will then put pressure on those who are elected — in combination with a president who is able to lead — in order to get it done. There are no magic solutions here. And the problems that we face, whether it's climate change, or health care, or making college more affordable, or dealing with our foreign policy is less a problem of, you know, getting the perfectly calibrated policy. It has to do with are we able to get people to work in the same direction, and that's what I can do. -Barack Obama.

I finally understand.

I finally understand. Throughout the younger years of my life, I never understood my mother's support of the democratic party. I admit, the first election I remember is '88, and that only poorly. ...

Sometimes, you can tell.

I wanted to write out a long entry.  But if there was a single sound for frustration, that would encompass the whole thing.

Wakeful thinking.

I had this dream last night, where somethign catastrophic happened to the earth.  I don't know what it was, but most of the people died.  As we emerged from our fallout shelter, we found the...

I'm too young for this.

People often tell me how much they respect the fact that I work so hard, and that I am so dedicated.  Jaws drop when they hear how many hours I work, or the last time I had a day off.  They ...

Puzzling.

All yesterday, and for all of today so far, I've had this strange feeling.  This feeling not of apathy, because I do care.  But rather that I shouldn't care, because it's not going to matter...
