Paul Bell

Paul Bell has been involved in Melbourne’s club scene since the mid 1990’s. As a DJ, Paul has maintained countless residencies at major nightclubs locally and often plays nationally and internationally. Paul’s style of music covers a wide mix of Uplifting House and Electro, and by exposing himself to a variety of styles this has allowed Paul to reach a wider audience and appeal.
Unsatisfied playing other peoples music, Paul returned to University in 2002 where he completed his Honours degree in sound engineering. Since completing his Honours degree in 2005 Paul has worked with many bands and solo performers producing and remixing their original tracks.
Paul now runs his own record label Disco Cats which is distrbuted through Xelon Entertainment. Paul has multiple projects underway with a variety of artists including Inaya Day, Tom Novy, Camille Jones, Ida Corr, MC Perplex, Starship Sailor, Antoine Dessante, Cara Tyler and Katie Weston.
‘The Melbourne Sound’ was Paul’s first self titled release which Combined a massive bass line and vocal hook performed by Germán Silva. Inspired by the vocals, Perth’s superstar DJ and producer Kristian Jackson (Mind ELECTRIC) from Vicious Grooves smashed out a rocking ‘FOUR TO THE FLOOR’ mix for all those 3am owls.But what is ‘The Melbourne Sound’? From the beaches of St Kilda to the hidden bars and clubs in graffiti-coated laneways of the city, Melbourne is gritty, individual and you never know what you will find. Paul has created a soundtrack that captures the vibrant, cosmopolitan ENERGY that consumes Melbourne.

Paul Bell once again teamed up with Germán Silva to produce his second self titled release and new National anthem for Australia, 'Australian Girls'. Paul followed this up with his third self titled release "Serial Nation" and there's no doubt about it, Serial Nation is a MAIN ROOM MONSTER! Paul again delivered his signature sound, which has been described as “aggressive but oh so smooth.”
In recent times, Paul has collaborated with rock sensation Katie Weston to form the electro pop group "Starship Sailor". Their first single "I'm So Perfect" and second single "Hurricane Risng" with fresh remixs from Fabian Gray and djmykeyb & point_blank are available now. Starship Sailor's third single "Freak you out" will be available later in the year.

Melbourne based DJ/Producer Paul Bell and rapping sensation Mc Perplex have teamed up to create something extraordinary.
Both are from very different musical backgrounds. Paul Bell the electro house extraordinaire and Mc Perplex the HIP HOP junkie have fused their passions together to produce a new sound for the clubs.
