About Me

Len Small started his bass-playing career as a founding member of St. Louis country-folk-rock band Wagon, back in 1992. Wagon recorded three albums, and Len soon made his way to New York. Here, he has appeared and recorded with many groups and artists, including Champale, The Rappaport Account, Jennifer O' Connor, a don piper situation, Koester, Joe Pisapia, The Oxygen Ponies, and The Half Knots. When Len had his first recording session at 16, his wood-paneled station wagon was so full of gear that the band decided to put the guitars on the top rack (without rope). Unsurprisingly, one of the guitars flew off the car on I-74, but was recovered from the side of the road, with only minor scratches -- still in tune!
