I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a strong, intelligent, independent woman who apparently looks a bit like Sandra Bullock, or so I am often told. I have a knack for intimidating people... at least that is what my friends and coworkers tell me and what my past experiences have shown. I don't believe in putting your "best foot forward" when you first meet someone, and I believe in accepting people for who they are.I moved to Tennessee from the northeast about 2 years ago. Tennessee is a beautiful state and moving here was a great decision. (Yeah… I finally made a wise decision! I suppose it was bound to happen after almost 33 years on this planet!)I love hiking in the mountains, touring caves, white water rafting, canoeing, photography, traveling, weight lifting at the gym with my challenging workout partner (my BFF), my house, the view from my house, and watching sunsets from my house…. oh, and beer (real beer, not the light crap that is normally on tap here in the South.)I recently ventured into aerobatic flying. My first flight was quite interesting. Due to a miscommunication with the instructor, I stalled the plane vertically at 3000 feet during a loop attempt. After a nice hammerhead move and a loss of 1000 feet, the instructor figured out the error. (And that is why he gets paid the big bucks.)I have already done the bungy jumping thing (yes… it is bungy jumping and not bungee jumping when you do it in New Zealand), but I plan to try the sky diving thing soon. My first bungy jump was 335 feet!

My Interests

Hiking (good at it), mountain biking (not so good at it, but I try), backpacking (got new gear... woot!), kayaking, traveling, photography, writing poetry, and Native American studies.
