Pavlovs Hunder plays alternative psychedelic rock with Norwegian lyrics. Their slogan is FORWARDS IN ALL DIRECTIONS! According to this, Pavlovs Hunder seeks inspiration in a lot of different rock related genres, making their music hard to label. Today, the members of Pavlovs Hunder are: Erik Lysøe (vocals, bass, keyboards), Tor Krøvel-Velle (guitars, keyboards, programming, vocals) Kjetil Sandnes (guitars, vocals), and Aksel Haugen (drums).Erik and Tor met in 2002 when Erik engineered a Wishful Sinful-demo. They formed project called Godless, and for a short period it was a complete band with five members. However, nothing came out of it except a few songs, and the project was put aside. In 2006, Erik and Tor got together again, wrote some Norwegian lyrics and some new songs, and renamed the project to Pavlovs Hunder. For quite a while, Erik and Tor played all instruments and did all the studiowork by themselves. In june 2008 they got together with guitarist Kjetil Sandnes and drummer Trond Johannessen and formed Pavlovs Hunder as a full band. Trond Johannessen had to leave the band the following autumn due to other commitments. Aksel Haugen joined in November 2008, making todays lineup complete. Pavlovs Hunder made their live debut on the 30th of May this year, to much acclaim from the audience and the local paper. PH live differs quite a bit from the studio-version, as the lineup is more rock oriented with drums, bass and two electric guitars. In the studio, the music is more layered, with extensive use of electric and acoustic pianos, organs and vintage synthesizers like Moog and Mellotron.
