You know, I used to be so on-top of music. i dropped the ball. however, in my stereo right now are the flaming libs and in my more recently rotating collection right now are belle and Sebastian, liz fair, beastie boys, digible planets, mos def, modest mouse, coltrane, T munk, radio head,( but i dig tunes from sesame street too) portishead, dj logic, tom waits, magnetic fields, blackeyed peas, radiohead, yo-yo ma, gillian welch... and. well. you get the picture.
ooo i like movies. amelie, empire records, the breakfast club, adaptation, todo sobre mi madre, cinema paradisimo, harold and maude, welcome to the dollhouse, snatch, little miss sunshine, it changes.. i refuse to watch scarey movies though. i once was tricked into going to a scarey movie by my friend and by the time we left the theatre he was complaining of bruises on his ribs where my arm involuntarily flung at the more jumpy moments. fear is cheap.
i hadn't really watched TV as a regular activity in a very very long time until I got to Minnesota. Though i did catch an episode of nanny 911 once or twice. And sometimes I'd go over to a friends house to watch 60 Minutes. There's something about Minnesota that draws me to the TV..sigh. guilty pleasure? veronica marrs.what can i say? my dad got me hooked. no joke.
the last book i read was media control. after that i've started Scoop, started Into the woods, and a ton of independent magazines and newspapers for work.
My Neighbor Patty Hughes was such a caring woman. She treated EVERYONE with unlimited respect and was always striving to do better. My little brother Matthew, for his generocity and love even though i often took it for granted.. same goes for my mom, Sally.
