(pronounced Nee-Mah, written as NHMA in Greek): Thread.
THE LAWS OF THE DEAD.
Every living person has a non-visible, yet very real thread connecting his soul with the land of the living. The expiring date of this thread is pre-determined. When the thread is finished, the soul accompanied by a father-guide (SPIRIT) finds its way to the other side. Committing suicide is a violent cut of the thread before its time. These souls (NHMA-TA) are trapped here, doomed to smell death and gather there like flies in the milk with the hope of leaving for the other side with someone else's father-guide Spirit.
PLOT SUMMARY of NHMA.
Gabriel is a 33 year-old art director that leads an ordinary life, living in Athens and spending most of the time with his fiance Zoe.
A car accident sends Gabriel to the hospital in the state of coma.
6 days after, Gabriel wakes and returns home. Doctors talk about a miracle.
Gabriel realizes very soon that he didn't return alone from the coma state. Violent visions and nightmares take over, all along with the apparitions wrapped in thread (NHMA-TA).
Perhaps his salvation from madness lies in an old, forgotten Village.
Perhaps his peace lies in the folklore, myths, traditions and ceremonies.
Perhaps the young Nurse Lisa and the old Lady Vama are his guardian angels.
Perhaps Gabriel never woke up.
FACTS.
This no-budget, full-length (aprox. 60 mins) movie is the debut of director Spyros Hondroyannis and it has gathered some of the finest professionals and artists of Athens Greece, UK, Japan, Italy, France and USA. Tens of actors and actresses, extras and a solid crew, all along with some of the finest musicians for the score and soundtrack, all performing or contributing for the first atmospheric horror movie this country ever released.
