At the tender age of 6 JB discovered what would soon be a life passion. Guitar. As a very young boy JB was exposed to Rock N Roll as a daily lifestyle. His father, also JB, has been a dedicated guitar player for most of his life too. JB was listening to his fathers music at a very young age and fell in love. The one thing that really made JB fall in love with his guitar and rock n roll was Jimi Hendrix. One day he found a Jimi album in the cd collection and played it. Since that moment Jimi Hendrix has been one of the biggest influences of JB's guitar playing. At the age of 9 JB's elementry school had what they call a 'Wax Museum'. Thats were students pick an influencial character of history, study them, and then dress like them and give a speech explaining thier purpose. Of course JB had to be Jimi Hendrix. With his stage light colored Vester Custom Shop Stage Series guitar, and a handfull of notes JB felt what it was like to be a rockstar. In middle school JB had what was probably the most influential turning point in his life. He went in to a local music store and saw a rough looking old rocker playin the blues. JB's father immediatly took notice and talked to this man. This man was Michael Katon of Hell Michigan. Michael Katon is a blues/rock n roll icon that has been playing himself since a very young age. (You can learn more at www.Katon.com ) JB started taking lessons from Mike. After a couple years JB was a much more accomplished guitar player and him and Mike were good friends on common ground. While JB was in high school Mike started hosting an open jam at a local bar. JB started going every week to jam with mike. This is were JB Really learned how to play. He was on stage with real professional musicians with thousands and thousands of miles on his belt. JB learned from the best and played with the best. Durning his ventures at the open jam JB met a Detroit Rock N ROll legend, W.R. Cooke, also known as Ron Cooke. Of all things Ron has played with- Detroit Wheels with Mitch Ryder, Cactus, Gang wars, Scott morgan, Wayne Kramer, Johnny Thunders and many more. A fews months after meeting JB and Ron get togeather in the studio. Ron was working on the new release of 'Dead Mans Hand' The latest album of the Detroit Band which consists of- Johnny 'Bee' Badanjek, Michael Katon, Ron Cooke, Tommy ingham, Steve Dansby. The title song on the album was the first release of a Culture Killers song. Culture Killers were origanally JB Sweet, Ron Cooke, And the great Johnny Arizona. After that album release JB and Ron went along and pursued the Culture Killers and found themselves all the way out in L.A. playing the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. After that the band had a conflict of interest and broke up. JB went along kept playing guitar trying find influences, boose, and women. After a year of living like a gypsie JB got focused and reunited with Ron Cooke in a band call Dead City Prophets. The Prophets are a great example of the energy and sophistication that goes along with Detroit Rock N Roll. JB and Ron still continue to tear up the streets of Detroit but JB is still looking for that climb to 'Great' Status. JB is working on projects on the side. Most notable is with "Drama" A hip hop and rap producer. The limit is the sky or your mind, the choice is yours.
