About Me

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Kandi Kernan. I am a singer, songwriter, worship leader, a MOM and a wife! I also have four screenplays that I am writing. I have an unknown and great desire to write musicals someday as well. I have been in only a few vocal & song writing competitions. I'm not really comfortable with them and I don't know how people can do that all the time! I went to Estes Park Colorado (The seminar in the Rockies for 10 days)All 3 songs that I wrote and sent were in the Top 20 of their genre. Hip Hop, Urban Gospel and Contemporary. It was exciting to have them critiqued by various artists and writers in the industry. (Smokie Norful was diggin my groove) LOL Being that it was the first time I had ever entered a writing competition, it was encouraging to me as an artist.
The last competition I was in was in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry Hotel I was a vocal semifinalist. I had a great time!
I am currently working to get my first CD project finished. I've just gotten back into the studio after 2yrs. I was struck with a lung disease and was extremely ill. BUT GOD has totally healed me of it. I am so thankful and I am working on getting full capacity back. Wow the things we take for granted...
I don't have a music page in hopes to be famous or noticed; I just want to be a blessing to people. I hope what you hear will encourage you and uplift you. I believe the Lord has anointed me to write and sing and to be an encourager. I just want to be faithful with what He has given me that is why I put the lyrics and melodies with music. I minister at church and outside my own fellowship. I also have been on several Chistian Rap CDs locally and was a member of Decatur's own "Kenneth Knox Ensemble for 2yrs" We did a Live CD recording and I'm featured on 2songs, "Another Building" and "Jesus is the Way".
I have been involved with the community and different evangelistic outreaches. I love to organize music events and see the body of Christ become one in worship.
I will be posting a few songs that may or may not appear on the CD.
That's where I NEED YOUR feedback! I will post bulletins in the future to let y'all know what's new && when they're ready to listen to.
The songs posted are not completely finished. I am thinking about electric guitar on "Rescued Me" and Harmonica on "Bill's Song" What do you think??

Conrad Lee is my producer and he's absolutely amazing!
I haven't met ANYONE who can play guitar like him.
I get the lyrics and melodies and he lays all the tracks. He's the MUSIC maaaan!

Influences:

When I first started serving the Lord, Candy Hemphill Christmas came to our church. She sang with such power, anointing and conviction. I thought, "I want to do that."
It was there in that moment, God started wooing and drawing me closer to the calling, purpose and design He had for me.
Crystal Lewis was another musical influence(back in the day) I have ministered with many of her songs. I still sing on occasion,"In Return" it's one of my favorites when I go out.
Mostly, The Holy Ghost influences me. I dont say that lightly. I want to move in His direction on purpose. Without God's presence and His anointing I am absolutely nothing...
I am sure there are many who have influenced me to be excellent.
These 3 just stand out to me at the moment...
