The Red Ant was born in 1996, the bastard offspring of Ugly Bug. Label Boss Pete Bones was ready for a new challenge, his aim was always to be both upfront and underground, but it was all too easy for the press and punters to pidgeon hole Ugly Bug, and so it was time to change. Pete's main influences have been taken from his mis-spent youth, Punk, Ska and Prog Rock, and when acid house swept the nation up in 1989, electronic music became the main concern. We've never really looked back. Maybe a little older a hopefully a little wiser, but with the same outlook on life, eat it up. Artists on the label include The Presslaboys, Tom Parris, DJ Mouse, and of course Mr. Bones himself.
