About Me
I Anthony Fitzgerald Archie ( D. O. Dubb) was born July 27, 1980 in Jackson, Mississippi at the University Medical Center. God blessed him to be musically inclined at the early age of seven, when he began singing with the Harvey Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Choir in Canton, MS. He began to put his life in poetry at the age of thirteen. The poetry didn’t stop there. Archie continued to write; however, at the age of fifteen his poetry became tragic, filled with thoughts of the death of his brother, Jamie Jamone Archie and his cousin, Michael Lewis. The confusion he dealt with brought an indescribable anger and the kinds of words that he felt had the power to be used either to help or destroy the mind. Becoming more and more frustrated, he searched for ways to express himself as he dealt with the pain of all the thoughts running through his mind. Then Anthony was introduced to the art of freestyling by cousins, Steverson Lewis (Psychster) and Craig Williams. His venture into freestyling dwindled for a couple of years due to a lack of knowledge of mobility in the music industry. At age eighteen he began attending Tougaloo College, where he met Charles Scarborough (Smoke), who had already begun his ventures into song writing, and Kenyon Mearday (Key Money). During his junior year, they begin playing around with battle rapping often challenging colleagues. Attending his girlfriend in the emergency room at UMC, he came upon a woman by the name of Leah Dotson who owned a record label-- LMD. Along with Key Money he was invited to a studio session by Ms. Dotson. At this point, Dubb really became enticed with making music. In search for new and talented artists, Ms. Dotson was in need of A&R, and he suggested himself for the job assuring her that he would find good talent. Ms. Dotson agreed. She had previous artists on her label: Luck, Squid, Quinn, and Pearl White, who went by the collective name of First Up Click, and Unreal- r&b singer. D. O. Dubb drafted Smoke and Clovisse Washington (Clover)- r&b singer. He recruited singer Luv Jones from Tunica, MS who also attended Tougaloo College. He had one other person in mind, Psychster. Being in the studio while Luck produced tracks and the other artists were writing, D. O. Dubb began to feel left out. So he casually began to write daily, turning his poetry into music. He took up playing in the booth as a hobby and actually laid his first eight bars down with his voice doubled. His surrounding audience nodded in approval and gave the general comment that with practice he could really do well and that his voice was “different.†After months of practicing, finally the day came when he got the chance to lay down the track “Mighty Mississippi†(Psychster featuring D. O. Dubb and The Queen Boyz of One Life/One Love Records). He fell in deep in love with performing after opening up for Lil’ Boosie at Club 662 in Lexington, MS. After recording a compilation cd and several videos with LMD, altercations began to surface among the talent because of misleading information presented by higher authority. D.O. Dubb immediately left the hostile atmosphere and began pursuing a solo career. He continued on this way a year or so, making numerous collaborations with entertainers such as: Infinite of Dread Bread Ent., Shuck of Grind Time Ent., King James of R&R records, and Brittany Chambers (Unique) and Mr. Reality, fellow alumni of Tougaloo College. He teamed up with Chris Logan (C-Logz) after making his debut album Another Level which features Smoke, who had also departed from LMD, but the three had not bonded as a group yet. The hype generated by the three outstanding talents motivated the formation of the dynamic trio, dangerous combination. After grinding to produce the dangerous combination Mixtape and spreading it independently through various venues, including several internet based services and hand to hand distribution, the group began to pick up performances in the local areas, even serving as the opening act for Young Jeezy in the spring of 2008 at Alcorn State University. They also began building a fan base in London through a working partnership with up and coming producer Phoenix Keyz. Upon hearing “Lose Control†and the positive feedback it was receiving in the Dallas, TX area, promoter Curtis Butler contacted the group, and they began working with him to promote both the song and the group. In a time span of less than four years, the members of dangerous combination have recorded nearly sixty songs and written hundreds more; D.O. Dubb, as a solo artist, recently won a Legions of Doom talent search contest sponsored by Official Entertainment at Club Kristylz in Jackson, MS performing the crowd pleaser “Looking at Me.†Under the direction of the greatest Producer, he feels that his music will forever continue.
