About Me

Dhru has been fascinated by the creation of music since his youth. Through his lifelong exploration of the origin and quality of sound, he sculpts broad textures of deep, mesmerizing riffs and creates layers of soulful trance, ambient and progressive rhythms that capture the attention and imagination of multi-genre music lovers.
Early 80s and Electronic Music were inspiring themes for the cultivation of Dhru’s production work, which was influenced early on by groups like Cabaret Voltaire, KraftWerk and Front242 to name a few. In 1989 he founded Factor One, an Industrial dance band. The group, which involved a five-year collaboration with colleague DJ Runge, opened for such popular acts as Frontline Assembly, Red Flag and Voice Farm. In 1990 Factor One recorded ‘Controlled Reality’ a single for a compilation album under the German label CCCP that played on local U.S. radio and across Europe. Dhru along with DJ Runge, further explored music production when in 1991 they released a 12” re-mix album of their original song titled, ‘In The Move’ - under their own label Grunge Productions. The album gained notable success charting on college radio and in dance clubs, across the U.S.
From 1994-1998 Dhru began a long exploration of the international music scene which took him across Europe and Japan which resulted in several projects. Project FLUX, a 1995 collaboration with the well known Bay Area Music Producer Bill Williams resulted in the successful promotional remix release of Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’, under speed Records/TRC.
A Terran Collective, was a collaboration which produced four original dance tracks with local DJs and Producers - including DJ Rick Preston under the Brain Candy Enterprises label. In 1998 Dhru produced a solo remake of the popular dance mix ‘Freak Out’ along with an original (3) song demo CD called SlipStream – a journey into Ambient and late 80s style music.
In the beginning of 2000 Dhru teamed up with an exploratory team of Arizona artists to produce and perform various original music projects which led to airplay in the emerging Internet radio scene. His current solo work was born out of this collaborative effort which resulted first in the ‘Zendoh’ project – a synthesis of world music to be released later this year.
In 2005 Dhru and DJ Runge reunited to form the progressive electronica group ‘Sojiva’, a local Seattle-based studio band creating house, trance and ambient style music. With plans for future recording and performing, the group has just completed its first album which includes the remix of U.K.’s 83’ hit single - Paul Young’s ‘Come Back and Stay’.
Dhru has recently completed a solo remix of ‘Jack Me Up’ for former popular Hollywood Underground Rock musician Jeff Lane, and is currently in the works collaborating and producing with other independent artist.
